REIVAX has signed a contract with ENEL FORTUNA to supply three Combined Systems of Voltage Regulator and Speed Governor, including the complete retrofit of the turbine’s hydraulic command and the control system for the power plant’s voltage and active power.

The Fortuna Power Plant has three units with five nozzles PELTON turbines, 100 MW each. Its threes units have a total capacity of 300 MW, that corresponds to around 23% of the total power at the Panamanian system.

REIVAX was awarded this contract because of the quality of its Solutions, its Latin American market leadership and its successful past experience with other ENEL/ENDESA power plants located in Latin America. REIVAX has equipments installed at the following power plants:

BRAZIL

  • Combined Speed Governor and Voltage Regulator – “Cachoeira Dourada” power plant;
  • Combined Speed Governor and Voltage Regulator – “Isamu Ikeda” power plant;

CHILE

  • Voltage Regulator  –“Pilmaiquén e Pullinque” power plant;
  • Combined Speed Governor and Voltage Regulator, Automation and Control Systems, SCADA – “Abanico”, “Cipreses”, “Sauzal”, “Sauzalito” and “Los Molles” power plants;
  • Power Systems Stabilizer – “Antuco”, “Pehuenche”, “Curilinque” and “Bocamina” power plants;

PERU

  • Voltage Regulators – “Huinco” power plant.

REIVAX signed a contract with Endesa Chile to supply two units of switchgears panels for units 5 and 6 at the Abanico Power Plant.

Each supply consists of three (03) panels, including the provision beyond the breaker unit, PTs, CTs and cubicles interconnection. The circuit breakers are specially designed for the use in generators. All the technology for the extraction of circuit breakers was designed by REIVAX. The panels have gone through simulation studies to withstand against internal electric arc, high temperature and seismic testing, approved without restrictions.

The main electrical characteristics of the provided panels are listed below:

Breaker Current: 4000 A;
Level of insulation: 15 kV;
Surge Current: 40 kA;
Applied voltage: 38 Hz, 1 min: 38 kVrms;
Voltage impulse: 1.2/50 ms: 95 kVcr;
Manufacturing standards: ANSI C 37013 and IEC 62271-200;

This project consolidates the presence of REIVAX in providing solutions for medium voltage in power generation plants. In less than two years, Reivax has provided over fifty switchgears for small, medium and large power plants throughout Latin America.

In July 2010 Reivax supplied its equipment number 1,000, taking over the control of more than 70,000 MW in power generation worldwide. Our highly skilled team of professionals, committed to finding the best solutions for our customers, and the quality of such solutions allowed our market expansion and consolidation.

REIVAX operates throughout the Americas and has solutions for all types of power generation with its equipments controlling power plants that generate from 100 KW to more than 500 MW. We control all types of generators and turbines, including the complete modernization of hydraulic driven systems, regardless of the turbine manufacturer.

REIVAX has provided speed governors for power units with rates above 200 MW and can supply digital controlled governors for Pelton Turbines with more than six control loops.

Our excitation systems can control field currents of more than 6000 A and we are the only manufacturer of the American continent in possession of the technology to control the converter in four quadrants (thyristor bridges that can operate at voltages and also with both positive and negative currents).

The results would not be possible without the trust of our customers and partners and their valuable contributions to our continued improvement. REIVAX stresses its commitment to the market by providing quality solutions that add value to its customers.

Thanks to everyone for being part of this successful story.
